One pushes the boundary.
The other decides whether the boundary still matters.
In North Carolina Republican politics, Michele Morrow and Michael Whatley are often described as opposites. She is framed as extreme and undisciplined. He is framed as professional and responsible. One is treated as the problem. The other as the adult in the room trying to manage it.
That framing is comforting.
It is also wrong.
