What did Canadians ever do to Trump to deserve this disrespect? What is Trump's end game?

It’s been a long week, an exhausting month, and an endless year already.

I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time in Canada—Nova Scotia, Ontario, and British Columbia - over the last 30 years.

I’ll never forget my trips to Manitoulin Island or standing in downtown Sydney amid the snow, or dining with the CEO of a large company in Toronto and all the laughs we shared.

I love the place. I love the people. Every visit has been nothing short of wonderful, filled with encounters with truly terrific individuals.

What have Canadians ever done to Trump to deserve this disrespect? Nothing. We’ve shared a border treaty with them since 1783. For 242 years, we’ve lived in peace, supporting each other like true friends.

Then Trump comes along and trashes that treaty—and every subsequent agreement—as if Canada had ransacked one of his golf courses.
