Cory Booker’s Fiery Senate Rebuke: A Rallying Cry to Save Democrats from Themselves
Time to Unite or Perish in 2026
Cory Booker’s July 29, 2025, Senate floor speech was a political thunderbolt, a searing indictment of Democratic complacency that should be etched into the party’s conscience. His accusation that Democrats are “complicit” with Trump’s agenda by failing to fiercely oppose policies like the selective withholding of police grants from blue states is a warning they ignore at their peril.
“What I am tired of is when the president of the United States violates the Constitution… and what does the Democratic Party do? Comply? Allow him? Beg for scraps? No. I demand justice,”
Booker declared, his voice a clarion call for a party teetering on the edge of irrelevance. His clash with Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto and Amy Klobuchar over a bipartisan police funding bill exposed a deeper truth: Democrats are too often seduced by compromise when they should be waging war against an administration that plays by no rules. Booker’s speech, delivered just 24 hours ago on July 29, 2025, isn’t just a moment, it’s a mandate. If Democrats don’t unite, strategize, and fight like their survival depends on it, they’ll be swept away in 2026 and beyond. This is the endorsement of a hero who’s sounding the alarm: wake up, or lose everything.
The Chaos in North Carolina’s 11th District Proves His Point
Nowhere is this disarray clearer than in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, where a staggering seven Democrats are reportedly crowding the 2026 primary to challenge Rep. Chuck Edwards. This is insanity. The district, covering 16 western counties including Democratic-leaning Asheville, is winnable: Kamala Harris improved on Biden’s 2020 vote share by 1.5 points, and the Cook Partisan Voter Index dropped to R+5, the least Republican tilt since 1997. Yet, instead of coalescing behind a single, strong candidate, Democrats are fracturing their chances with a chaotic primary. Col. Moe Davis, a battle-tested veteran and former Air Force prosecutor, is the standout. His 2020 campaign against Madison Cawthorn proved he can compete, narrowing the gap to 10 points in a tough year. Davis has the experience, name recognition, and grit to take on Edwards, who’s vulnerable after backlash over Trump-aligned policies and a lackluster hurricane response. But with seven candidates, Democrats risk splitting the vote and handing Edwards another term.
Booker’s warning is a direct rebuke of this kind of self-sabotage. Democrats must rally behind Davis, the one candidate with the proven ability to win over moderates and energize the base in this R+5 district.
The party’s failure to unify early is exactly the “complicity” Booker decries, a refusal to prioritize victory over ego. If Democrats don’t consolidate behind Davis, streamline their strategy, and channel Booker’s unapologetic fire, they’ll squander a winnable seat and prove Booker right: they’re complicit in their own defeat.
The Stakes Are Clear: Unite or Perish
Booker’s rage is a roadmap out of this mess. Democrats must stop chasing bipartisan kumbaya and start wielding their leverage, whether it’s blocking bills, forcing shutdowns, or rallying voters with unapologetic conviction. The 2024 losses were a wake-up call; Booker’s speech is the alarm clock being smashed over their heads. The party’s survival hinges on backing leaders like Davis and heeding Booker’s demand for a backbone. Unite or perish, the choice is theirs, and the clock is ticking as of 12:37 PM EDT today, July 30, 2025.

Booker was completely right. We must pick a candidate and get behind that candidate for the win if we intend to win this race. If we don’t get Edward’s out of the 11th district he will destroy us!
