MEET
Ex-Congressman Madison Cawthorn
Madison Cawthorn ran for Congress on a scam and false biography. Many people believed Cawthorn had been injured in Iraq, despite never joining the military. He was actually injured in a car accident while traveling at a high speed and switching with another driver without stopping the car. His opponent, Colonel Moe Davis and David Wheeler co-founded American Muckrakers to expose Cawthorn for the fraud he showed the world he is.
In 2021, Wheeler and Davis exposed Cawthorn for attempting to bring guns onto airplanes, hiding knives in his wheelchair while attending public events, including schools, where any weapon is banned. We also humiliated him by using his own words and facts against him every day of his primary campaign.
We also encouraged Democrats to change their registration to unaffiliated so they could vote against Cawthorn. This was a successful strategy as 3,500 Democrats changed their voter registration and voted in the Republican primary.
Cawthorn lost the 2022 Republican Primary by 1400 votes. We are proud of being part of the coalition that fired Cawthorn.
